Dear Fellow Patriots,
Hooray for Hollywood?
I don't think so!
But I will cheer for the few brave souls in entertainment who will break with the people who are ruining entertainment and culture.
That's why I am so pleased to tell you that just a few nights ago at The Virginia Forum we announced that conservative movie star Kevin Sorbo will be our featured speaker next month!
Over his decades in film and TV Kevin starred as Hercules and an impressive array of heroic characters.
But off screen it's been a Herculean battle of another kind as he has faced considerable industry backlash for daring to express his conservative political leanings.
What is it like to work in the entertainment industry as a conservative? As a Christian? As a religious person of any faith? As a Republican?
With the internet mobs and modern cancel culture, is it even possible to become a highly paid famous box office star if you announce your beliefs too soon?
Is the entertainment industry and its audiences so divided that they're about to splinter into micro media instead of mass media?
Kevin Sorbo will tell his story and how he has navigated some of the most legendary roles in modern cinema and entertainment, what advice he offers to newcomers in acting, and what he says to those of us who buy tickets.
Speaking of tickets:
VIP Tickets to meet Kevin Sorbo are VERY limited and are going fast… get them here!
And of course, we will have general admission seats for the forum speech later that evening on October 23rd as well.
Kevin Sorbo arrives in Richmond on the heels of last week's remarkable Virginia Forum presentation from Xi Van Fleet who escaped from Communist China.
Take a look at the pictures of this highly attended event! And read the outstanding article that appeared in the respected Bacon's Rebellion blog highlighting Xi's compelling speech – and the lessons she has for all Americans!
The personal challenges Xi faced and her own recognition that the censorship, public pressures, and cultural destruction that she witnessed in China are all happening now - within a modern “cultural revolution” in America served as a wakeup call to many in our audience.
We will share more clips and insights from Xi's talk on our social media channels…
Please follow us here…
I'll keep you up to date on the great events we have coming up and I hope you will join us for our forum speeches and monthly meetings and even for our annual Christmas reception.
The sign-up information and membership details are all on our website www.thevirginiacouncil.org
Finally, if we want to preserve the best of Virginia's storied history and save the success of capitalism and western civilization while ushering in an era of prosperity for ALL of our citizens, we must band together, take action to protect our cultural heritage and speak up. We welcome dedicated volunteers to help our cause! And as always, we need your financial support as we battle to protect our freedoms, our heritage and our precious historical art in the Commonwealth! You can make a donation to the Council by going to our website HERE.
I hope you will join our group and help us spread the word!
