News from The Virginia Council 11/9/25

Dear friends and citizens,

Understandably the events of the past week have many of us angry confused or despairing. But in times like this we can take consolation in the scriptures - especially these famous words from Ecclesiastes. The wisdom of this passage teaches us not to give up hope..not to stop trying to follow the right path. For both joy and sorrow are inescapable parts of life… but times of weeping are followed by times of laughter. And times of war are followed by times of peace.

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Sincerely,

Help us to stop the further destruction and degradation of our historic past today!
Help us fight for an honest, legal process to determine
the fate of these historic pieces of art from Richmond.
Decisions made by the mob are not a democratic process,
but tyrannical.
There have been some victories, but Virginia's monuments and history are still at risk of being erased.
