News from The Virginia Council 3/2/25

Dear friends,

Could emotional maturity and objective Truth be on the horizon after years of half-truths and juvenile name-calling by revisionist historians?

The Virginia Council is pleased to sponsor a four-part series, “Un-Cancelling History and Heroes”, to further the understanding of several important individuals who have been the targets of recent, damaging “Cancel Culture" attacks.

Americans should no longer accept mis-informed, one-sided disparagement of our former leaders, explorers, Founders and soldiers who courageously faced all kinds of adversity that we ‘moderns’ can barely conceive of and rarely encounter today.

Why do we allow partial Truth to distort our understanding and appreciation of these individuals?

Why not learn important facts that have been omitted, or buried? Discover what has been removed, cloaked or obscured in order to create a distorted ‘narrative’.

This spring The Virginia Council brings its own version of the iconic radio program, Paul Harvey’s “The Rest of the Story” on March 8th, April 5th, May 10th and June 21st to Virginia's history. Scholars and guests will gather in groups of 30 for presentations and round-table discussions, including lunch, at historic Hanover Tavern (across the street from Patrick Henry’s former law office.)

You just may learn that Thomas J. “Stonewall” Jackson so loved his black Sunday School class, he risked arrest by Virginia’s Attorney General to teach them, and that later, these same students donated money for the erection of his grave marker and even created a stained-glass window dedicated in his honor.

You may just learn things about Christopher Columbus or Thomas Jefferson that will restore your faith in the lessons you learned at an earlier, pre-Agenda-driven era. Join us, by registering at www.virginiacouncil.org.

And don't forget to RSVP for our free monthly meeting on this Thursday, March 6th with Cheryl Wilson or buy tickets to hear from Fox News Washington D.C. correspondent Mike Emanuel with his latest take on the fast-paced changes and news from the Capitol city
