News from The Virginia Council 9/14/25

Dear friends and citizens,

The political assassination of Charlie Kirk, founder and leader of Turning Point USA is a watershed moment in America. On the eve of the 250th Anniversary of our country we are faced with the realization that there are many here who don't truly subscribe to the Declaration's or Constitution's restraints on government or inalienable freedoms of worship, speech, and assembly.

The heinous and cowardly murder has jolted the body politic like an electric shock. Charlie Kirk was a powerful and persuasive exponent of tradition, the family, God, and country. He rejected efforts to define decency down as passe or uncool. His impact as a young conservative Johnny Appleseed proclaiming the truth and the word has caught fire among young men and women yearning for meaning and direction in their lives. Perhaps this is the dying gasp of the ‘do your own thing’ legacy of baby boomers?

The ebbing influence of the legacy media will accelerate with their biased coverage of Charlie's mission and death. Their tortured misconstruals of out of context clips that portrayed him in a negative way were used to slyly insinuate and demonize him. And nothing was further from the truth. As a Christian he always led with love and worked towards understanding, listening to those who condemned him. And just as Senator Kaine tried to sell us on the fallacy that God is not the prime installer of human rights, those that attack Charlie want the rest of the country to believe that faith in God has no place in the public square. According to them it needs to be torn out, taught out, and shamed out of postmodern society.

These efforts against tradition, decency, faith and family were pushed through academia, news and entertainment media, and through government funded NGO's, non-profits, foundations and associations. While the left tries to use a phony head count of shooting deaths as the sole score card to blame the right for being the source of political violence, we know better. Because the effects of the left's campaign are far broader and deeper than a body count. If you ever thought twice about putting up a yard sign because you were worried about your emotional neighbor, or decided to use a magnet bumper sticker so you could remove it when you went downtown, or if you bit your tongue or swallowed your words when confronted by a hateful diatribe, you have felt a small part of what was visited upon Charlie in Utah.

The best way to honor Charlie Kirk is to pick up his mantle and carry on for freedom, faith and flag. Emulate his actions and his positive, upbeat and thoughtful style of engagement. He showed all of us, no matter how young, we can make a huge difference when we act on our faith.

Hear directly from someone inspired by working and learning from Charlie at Turning Point: Julio Rosas! His most recent work showcasing the valiant efforts of ICE officers in the face of organized resistance will be the subject of his Virginia Forum event on September 30th. And maybe he'll share a few words about his work with Charlie. General admission tickets and VIP meet and greet tickets are available here.

And if you'd like to get a discount for both our Forum shows: Julio Rosas and then Kyle Mann of The Babylon Bee on November 11th, purchase a bundle deal for both shows here

It is without exaggeration that if not for Charlie,
I would not have my career today."
