Dear friends and fellow citizens, “I predict future happiness for Americans, if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.” – Thomas Jefferson to Thomas Cooper, November 29, 1802 What's true of the federal government is true of state government and other large organizations: outsourcing your care or security leads to neither. When people band together to establish a government, trade union, or interest group the key is to still maintain control over your personal decisions and to be able to provide feedback concerning the taxes or dues you contribute. The Right to Work laws in Virginia allow workers that freedom: to join and pay dues or not to, depending on their needs. But it there is not a job requirement to do so. What are your thoughts about this issue? You can let us know by attending a meeting this Wednesday, August 20th as we partner with Americans for Prosperity for a Right to Work trivia night. Come out and learn more about this important topic vital to the economic success of the Commonwealth. And our first full meeting will be September 10th at Park Layne Tavern with Michael Watson from the Capital Research Center. We look forward to seeing you again soon at our events, in the meantime stay cool and get prepared for a busy fall season with The Virginia Council. Sincerely,
Will McGurn Interim President, The Virginia Council

 (5) Scott Jennings on X: "The last time we talked about reviewing historical exhibits was when liberal mobs tore down historical statues across the country.
