News from the Virginia Council

Dear Fellow Patriots,

What do your kids, grandkids, neighbors, or even friends know about the history of our nation?

For those of us over the age of 50 there's a good chance they recognize the names of the Founders and the many Virginians who contributed to the remarkable freedom documents that created America and who were prepared to sacrifice their lives and fortunes for the chance to be free.

The bad news is that your kids might recognize the names, but they are being systematically taught only about the horrors of slavery and a litany of abuses and failures. No society can survive when its young are taught to hate their country, despise their parents and loathe themselves. Yet, that's exactly what is happening and we already see the devastating results in our lackluster civic engagement and the violent protests and destructive behavior.

To be fair, if you've been taught that everything in your nation is racist and awful why wouldn't you behave this way?

But we know that this ugly narrative isn't completely or factually true and is actually a part of the Marxist movement to undermine the pillars and stability of western civilization so that it can be conquered. Doubt me? Please read Rules for Radicals and the history of other nations in Eastern Europe, the far East, and Central and South America that have been ruined with similar practices.

Some of you have expressed concerns that I am overly focused on the destruction of monuments and public art- especially those that have to do with the Civil War. I admit it's uncomfortable to discuss the war between the states especially since it has been sold to modern citizens as a clear-cut battle between good and evil, freedom and slavery. But as usual the actual truth about what caused the war is MUCH more complicated and similar to our rabid disagreements today- not as clear cut as cynical manipulators would have you believe.

Saving monuments, memorials and public art from the past allows citizens of the future to recognize the names and places and issues of previous generations and to study why they were revered in their time. As the Marxists know- bulldozing monuments leaves no markers of what has happened in the past and allows important people and movements to be falsely maligned or worst yet- completely erased from public discussion.

That's why this preservation mission is so important. If we fail your children and grandchildren will continue to be taught about the evils of the country they inherited and especially in the digital age when print materials no longer provide timeless frozen versions of history- there will be no alternative but to accept the lies.

In the coming year the Virginia Council will not only redouble our legal efforts to stop physical destruction, but we will also be partnering with historians, teachers and historic sites to make sure that the FULL story of our past is told with the full narrative that Americans and Virginians especially are seeking; that more perfect union of free and educated and wise and moral people.

Few other groups are willing to touch these controversial issues. We will not be scared away or intimidated. We hope you will join us in this important movement!

Please join us for our September meeting by preregistering here, our next Virginia Forum in September and donate to help us grow our outreach and programs.
