To keep the founding principles of our country and commonwealth as alive and as vital today as they have been for 250 years. The utterly disgraceful proclamation by Senator Kaine that shocked the conscience of the nation last Wednesday was not a misunderstanding or mistake. It was a confession of the modern political view that imbues the government with special status above the governed. It's the thought that Leviathan's rules and regulators are the legitimate source of our government. This is the creed of the swamp and its haughty disregard for the little people outside the beltway. And this view is antithetical to a functioning representative democracy. Senator Kaine was able to violate another foundational idea underlying our constitutional republic: that a recognition of God's grace and inspiration is crucial to the success of our society. As John Adams said: 'Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.' Kaine's distortion of American's faith, and his comparison of it to a repressive theocracy, is an indication of how little he appreciates its crucial value in the formation and flourishing of our country. Perhaps Kaine has also forgotten - or has actively repudiated - the immortal words of the late President John F. Kennedy in his eloquent and famous inaugural address delivered in January 1961: "The rights of man come not from the generosity of the state but from the hand of God." We are here to raise our voices in opposition to these evil ideas. They are a deadly political cancer infecting our body politic. If left unchallenged they will be fatal to our country as we know it and pose a dangerous, and perhaps even deadly, threat to every man, woman and child in America. With your voices, and your help, we can stand up for the greatest government ever devised by mankind. And pass this precious heritage on to succeeding generations.
