News from The Virginia Council 8/31/25

Dear friends and fellow citizens,

The social battle to define the “Story of America” continues on many fronts. Not since 1976 have we as a Republic taken such a long hard look at past glories while suffering such a negative mood about our current progress as a nation. The 250th anniversary of the United States and the Commonwealth's part in it, will be a celebration, first and foremost. While aware of our failures we are also cognizant of the exceptionalism of our aims.

The Shenandoah Valley Battlefields Foundation, one of the most respected and prestigious Civil War preservationist organizations in the nation, has been working to force the city of Richmond to revisit the secretive and improperly conducted process of hastily removing, and then finding proper locations for the monuments, statues, and artifacts torn down in 2020. Recently, the Court failed to act in a timely fashion and did not consider a motion to keep the artifacts in Richmond (albeit in the undignified and dangerous sewage treatment plant). So they have been shipped to Los Angeles to be ‘re-imagined’ in a large exhibit of other statues defaced and torn down.

The fate and proper care of the other objects of art and memory are unknown, as the current organization that was given control, has no plans for their display or conservation. This appears to go against the conditions of the stipulations for their care and control. Please help us work with our partners to place ownership of these public monuments where they belong, in public, by contributing to the legal fund here.

Our first regular meeting will be September 10th, 5:30 - 8:00 pm at Park Lane Tavern with Michael Watson from the Capital Research Center, RSVP here. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Sincerely,

We need your help today!
There have been some victories, but Virginia's monuments and history are still at risk of being erased.
The good news is that Reconciliation Monument
is being returned to Arlington.
Restoring Reconciliation Monument Is Important For The Country

But the Richmond statues, monuments, and cannons
were sent to Los Angeles, California!

Please join our legal battle today.
Help us fight for an honest and legal process to determine
the fate of these historic pieces of art. Decisions made by the
